so i was tinkering with my builds last night and i threw together a full prot build, it was kinda noobs -

ZB (elite)
prot spirit
reversal
guardian
spirit bond
remove hex ( not prot but hey...)
dismiss condition
a ress

so i know its kinda noob but i was enjoying playing it
and was wondering if there were any better builds that people might have because i think i like prot alot more then heal^^

you generally dont wanna take a rez on a monk, unless its pve then take rebirth or chant. also you dont need sb AND prot spirit, take GoLE instead

He shouldn't need GoLE with only one 10 e spell, of course that is assuming ZB is used correctly. If you go the GoLE route, drop Gaurdian and add Aegis (and as stated above drop Spirit Bond/or PS).

Take holy veil instead of remove hex, drop rez for an utility skill ike: return, disciplined stance, balanced stance or whatever you feel like. Also, SB > prot spirit

The OPs build might be for PvE only the reason for a res.Yeah I do agree going hybrid would be better with WoH instead of ZB.

GoLE with ZB gives a very nice recharge in energy which is nice in PvE where you will probably be doing a bit more spamming. Course if you manage your energy, you probably won't need it, but its nice to have.

hybrids all the way, but if you must go full prot, ( which i do as well sometimes) you have to know the nature of the beast, and know you'll be playing a lot harder, a lot more intensly.

ibreaktoilets build is a good choice for a 12 12 build, but i would pick remove hex over veil in pve..

Lose the Res, bring something in (GoLE for instance, or a secondary proffession defensive skill.).

Apart from ZB, there's always RC.

Are two of the best area specific primarily Prot (Or Prot Elite) build variants. Of course thats not the end-all-be-all build, you can obviously tweak it to however you prefer, but I like those.

Only 1 Monk is bad unless you've got a huge defense source (Imbagon comes to mind.)
But with only 1 Prot Monk, you need more healpower. With a Hybrid, you'll need more of both if its a 4-man situation.
But Healing Monks are bad apart from a single situation: Healers' Covenant and Healers' Boon.

Btw, IMO the Shields (Deflection / Regen) aren't particularly powerful in PvE.... I mean a PS or SB stops huge amounts of damage anyway, without having to sacrifice an elite.

SoD owns period. Though if you are solo monking a group of 8 you will have to settle for WoH or ZB as your elite IMO.
